NEW DELHI: Hardening its stand against the position of Congress, Trinamool Congress (TMC) said he will not wait until March 30 for the sacking of the railway minister Dinesh Trivedi. A Times Now report says that the party wants him to be sacked immediately after the budget of the Union on Friday.
The sources said that Congress Mamata called bluff by agreeing to remove Dinesh Trivedi, but only at one time he wants. This strategy was adopted after Samajwadi Party (SP) chief Mulayam Singh Yadav has assured support in Congress, TMC chief Mamata neutralizing Banerjee is his threat. SP, with 22 MPs in the Lok Sabha, already supports the UPA government from outside and said he would not pose a threat to its stability.
Trivedi has offered up to 20 percent price increase in its passenger rail budget for 2012-13, inviting the wrath of Mamata who wrote Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to sack him.
When it was pointed out that the proposed price increase was contrary to the policy of his party, Trivedi said, "I did it for the railways and the country ... not for the party. If I have to please my party, so I'm not doing my job. "
On the possibility of restoring price increase, Trivedi said, "the budget is in Parliament and I will be guided by the Parliament. Parliament will be guided by the wisodom people. "
Troubleshooting Congress, Pranab Mukherjee, today spoke to Mamata monitoring their discussions over twice by telephone last night. TMC parliamentary party leader Sudip Bandopadhyay Mukherjee also met today in Parliament.
