Struggling to stay afloat in a number of canceled flights, Kingfisher Airlines had on Tuesday rapped the DGCA that by adhering to its flight schedules, but aviation regulator did not have clear plans to take any punitive action against it for a moment.
"Let's not talk about punitive action at this time. We are more interested to see the airline back on its feet. Our goal is not to punish ... because of the immediate difficulties, passengers will have to face," DGCA chief EK Bharat Bhushan said after the nearly two-hour meeting with Kingfisher CEO Sanjay Aggarwal and executive vice president Hitesh Patel here .
Bhushan asked the DGCA would consider action against the Kingfisher for ignoring the Aircraft Rules did not take the prior consent of the heavy cut its flights.
Since more than 40 flights were canceled across the country on Tuesday, the airline announced that the DGCA had 28 operational aircraft out of 64 planes in November last year.
Airline's top brass were invited to explain the extensive disruption of activities and reasons.
"We've had a good meeting. Some additional information is requested DGCA which shall be sent within 24 hours," Aggarwal said after the meeting.
DGCA asked the two top officials to provide "realistic" timetable is an airline can operate with 28 planes.

The airline had applied for a use of about 400 flight 64 airplane during the current winter schedule from November to March.
"In November, when all of a sudden they cut some of the flights, we asked them to submit a revised schedule. Today we took the situation and found that only 28 of 64 aircraft serve as the" DGCA chief said.
When the 28 aircraft, DGCA assesses the airline would be able to operate 175 flights a week.
Carrier canceled more flights on Tuesday. Although 13 flights were canceled in Mumbai, 8 pcs canceled Kolkata and Bangalore and four in Delhi, where hundreds of passengers stranded. Mumbai-Delhi road link was most affected by the possible cancellation of flights and club activities.
